Through My Eyes

It’s the same theme, from a long time ago
It still rings strong, furious… and true
It’s a theme never meant to be forgotten
Till its grand finale we witness, hear, and do

Today I sit to write my message to thee
Reflecting on my memories, and what you mean to me
An anchor to help me, support me and guide…
My flow of recklessness, wisdom, or glee

I pray for guidance, motivation and strength
I pray for perseverance and wisdom so intense
I still believe in the fight you put in me
I still believe in salvation for past, future, and every tense

Today I write you, to renew my everlasting vow
With a promise to bring out what’s needed, for then and now
With faith and reliance, on the exalted one
God be my guide, and may He victory allow

I still miss you, and remember every day
Still uncovering your unmatched beauty in every new way
An example so gentle, wise and pure
An example to give guidance, then, tomorrow, and today

I take my learnings, and add them to your everlasting grace
Shed light on the picture, here and there and in every place
Learn new things, and get back to the drawing board
To make the picture clearer, then back to the race

Today I am thankful, for all what God has bestowed
For all his blessings, and support along the road
With love all around me, faith, strength and what you put in us
I yearn to make you proud.. in this, and every ode

I stood there yesterday, with your memory so close
With loved ones around me, remembering you with a prose
Paying a visit, like I used to do
To let you know I still remember, with memories so hard to lose

Twenty years have passed, since we said goodbye
Months, years, and decades have passed by
I still come here to remind you
That this fire will never die

Today I tell you, we are alright
With a dream to make you proud, holding on so tight
Your legacy, still holding my head up high
A motivation, that helps me choose what’s right

Making sure I remind you, that love is all around
With my face looking into the distance, with glory abound
No matter what hiccups came my way
Everyday, still making ground

Here to remind you, and renew my everlasting vow
The soldier still fights, inside, outside, then and now
Your righteous kindness, and memories of joy
With every step, making ground, anywhere, anyhow

Every word you told me, and every memory so vivid

To shatter the weakness, to build one’s pride

A flow of emotions, many won’t comprehend

Will not change, come what illusion to bend

Still going strong, and thankful for my blessings
Sometimes you fear when the world is pressing
But faith brings you back to the path you are supposed to take
To tame your dark side, gracefully, with no stressing

Another year has passed, and more reflections to assess
I am still true to my promise, I am still doing best
Grateful for the ones God put, to help along the way

Observing the field, engaging where I meant to be
Sometimes you miss, sometimes you score
For when you chart your path, you plant, and nourish the tree

To stay the course, to dream, to shine, and success to allow
When the world is full of noise, fear won’t push me back
Won’t let it prevail, I am still fighting, like then, like now

Still vigilant, not complacent, still holding on to my prayer
For God is close to help, giving glory to those who stay true
For your pride in me, taught me to stay just and fair
